Recharter 2024

Helpful Tools for Recharter 2024

Page updated 11/5/23 @ 3:19 pm

  1. Key Dates:
    • October 2, 2023 – the Online Recharter system opened on Internet Advancement.
    • December 15, 2023 – all recharter work should be completed and submitted online.
    • Until the First Week of January – the Council continues to process recharter packets and when necessary reports errors to Districts/Units for correction.  Packets without errors sit in an online queue as “PrePosted” until the first week of January.
  2. We are sending emails on recharter periodically to the Unit Key3.
  3. Visit & bookmark the GGAC Recharter Resources webpage.  This page has training, tips, common issues, and more.  It will be updated periodically.
  4. Visit the combined GGAC + National Fee page
  5. Go to Internet Advancement to see if you have permission to access the Recharter for your unit.
    • If you do not have access and have been assigned the responsibility to process Recharter, ask one of the Key3 in your unit to assign you Key3 Delegate privileges in my.scouting.org/roster/functional roles.  There is good documentation from national about online applications, including Invitation Manager, Application Manager, assigning Functional Roles, including Key3 & COR Delegates; and more at this site:  https://www.scouting.org/resources/online-registration/
  6. Visit the GGAC Youth Protection page which includes the stricter policies on YPT and Ab506.
  7. Download the most current AB506 compliance reports and review the status of your currently registered adults.  These reports will be updated about every other week.
  8. You can run a YPT report any time you wish from my.scouting.org/training manager
  9. Use the tips on the GGAC Volunteer Onboarding page to help new leaders register (Steps 1-6) or existing leaders (Steps 2-5) properly process YPT, AB506 LiveScan & Mandated Reporter Training.
  10. Recharter for 2024 is 100% electronic. No paper will be given to you and none is required nor accepted by GGAC.
    • We strongly suggest you embrace online (not paper) applications for both youth and adults.
    • We request you make your payment using one of the two electronic methods (e-Check or Credit Card).
    • We will collect the Supplemental Leader Contact Information (such as Popcorn Kernel, YPT Champion, etc.) but via a  Google Form
    • Graded JTE forms will not be collected by the district. They are for the benefit of the Units.  We encourage you to complete the form and work with your Unit Commissioner or District Commissioner to create a custom improvement plan. https://www.scouting.org/awards/journey-to-excellence/unit/
