Help Close the Gap

We're still $20,000 short of our goal. Support the scouts in our district and ensure the continuation of the programs and camps your family loves.

Understanding Friends of Scouting - Isn't the Annual Council Annual Fee Enough?

The straightforward answer: No.

The annual fees, while essential, don't cover everything. They're not enough to maintain our programs, provide financial support to underprivileged youth, keep our camps running, manage insurance costs, and, crucially, compensate our dedicated staff. The true expense of offering these services amounts to approximately $300 per youth, a figure that exceeds the $68 Council annual fee. Your contribution to the 2023 Friends of Scouting is what helps bridge this gap.

Supporting the Mission Peak District Goal

This year, our target for the Mission Peak District is to raise $55,000 through the Friends of Scouting donations. Here's how you can contribute:
  • Donate Here: Every dollar plays a part. Consider making a recurring donation – $5, $10, $20, or even $100 per month. Whatever works with your budget is deeply appreciated.
  • Unit Base Donations: Offer your support during "Ask Events" within your Packs, Troops, or Ships. If there's no scheduled event, Brian Putt is available to assist.
  • Spread the Word: Do you know people passionate about scouting? Share, or a snapshot of the QR code below to introduce them to the Mission Peak Friends of Scouting.
  • Matching Donations: Does your employer match your charitable contributions? Let us know! And if you're awaiting a Donation Confirmation letter from the Council, reach out to Fernanda Ruiz
  • Engage the Business Community: Do you know small businesses or civic organizations that would financially support our district? Are you a business owner or have a say in charities donations? Contact Brian Putt or Fernanda Ruiz
Thank you for supporting Scouting!

Our Scout Family is mourning the loss of Little Leo Grigorev & the family needs your help!

Our Scout Family is mourning the loss of Little Leo Grigorev & the family needs your help!
You may have heard in the news at the end of last week about a 2-year-old that was struck by an SUV in a Fremont shopping plaza parking lot, who then later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. When the last name of the victim was released, our hearts immediately sank - it was a familiar yet unique name, one that was on our Fremont Pack 176 roster; Leonid Grigorev, one of the younger brothers of one of our Webelos scouts, Tatiana.

Like many other scouting units, our pack is very close to each other, and our hearts were collectively broken. Pack 176 has sprung into immediate action and organized food drop-offs for their family, as well as setting up a crowd-funding website to support them. Their family has been going through some financial struggles the last 6 months, and we were hoping that this would be a way to help ease some of the unimaginable pain they are already going through.

HELP REQUESTED FOR THE FAMILY!
https://givebutter.com/Grigorev

Their family could really use the support from the scout community. Please take a moment and reach out to this family in pain and see what the extended scout community can do to help.
