Mission Peak Cub Scout Day Camp was a huge success!

Mission Peak Cub Scout Day Camp was a huge success!
All of the Cub Scouts had a rootin' tootin' good time at the Wild West themed Cub Scout Day Camp this year! Over 80 scouts with over 40 volunteers got to do amazing activities such as campfire cooking, fun arts & crafts, bird watching hikes, helping the animals at the farm, learning about safety during the fun adventure on the Oregon Trail, detective games at the STEM station, and last but not least, cowboy games at the game station, leatherworking activities thanks to Tandy Leather in Fremont!

A huge thank you to all the adult and youth volunteers who came out and volunteered to make this great event such a big success! All of the little westerners had a blast!

The Passing of Ray Weaver, a Great Scout Leader in our Community

The Passing of Ray Weaver, a Great Scout Leader in our Community
It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of one of the most dedicated Scouters in Bay Area history. Mr. Ray Weaver, has Gone Home. Ray held many positions in Scouting including Council Commissioner, however, he was best known for his over 40 years of service teaching archery to Cub Scouts and for his leadership over Troop 2, the oldest troop in the East Bay, chartered to California School of the Blind. He was preceded in death by his beloved Jeanette who was by his side and formed the other half of this famous Scouting power couple.

Thank you for what you have done, Mr. Ray Weaver. May your arrow fly straight and true.

Learn more about the Messengers of Peace Opportunity!
Welcome to the Messengers of Peace program in BSA. World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) created Messengers of Peace in 2011, to encourage Scouts around the world to step up and do what they can to make the world a little better. The MoP program falls under WOSM’s Better World Framework.

Messengers of Peace aims to promote a culture of peace and dialogue for mutual understanding, promote service initiatives led by Scouts, support the development of young people affected by conflict situations, provide further connection to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and connect Scouts around the world in a global network of 20 million Messengers of Peace.
