Volunteers, including Jim Dalton, were honored at Annual Recognition Event

Volunteers Honored at Annual Recognition Event
The Silver Beaver Award, the highest council award for volunteers, was given to seven individuals from the GGAC for their significant impact on Scouting above unit-level service.

Other volunteer awards from the Scouting program, including Sea Scouting and Venturing, were also presented. We recognized those who initiated new units, ensured Scouts with special needs could fully participate, and the recipients of the NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Awards.

Spring has sprung! This is the season where our districts acknowledge the District Award of Merit recipients and those who have made a difference in their units and the Scouting program.

These recognitions are crucial in appreciating our volunteers' work. In the GGAC, we're lucky to have a dedicated team of volunteers, who contribute at all levels to the Scouting program. Some impacts are visible, others are behind the scenes, but all are vital for our success.

We cannot thank our volunteers enough for your efforts. GGAC is thriving because of you!

If you missed the Volunteer Recognition Event, check the Online Program to see all the recognized individuals.

Considering volunteering for GGAC? District and council opportunities are available. Email info@ggacbsa.org for immediate interest. An online portal with listings is coming soon, watch for that announcement in the eNews.

Friends of Scouting needs your help!

Friends of Scouting needs your help!
If you can, please consider donating today!

Why Friends of Scouting? Isn't the Council annual fee enough? Unfortunately, the answer is no. Annual fees are insufficient to sustain the programs, offer financial assistance to disadvantaged youth, keep camps open, cover the insurance and yes, pay the employees. The real cost of the program is around $300 per youth, much higher than Council annual fee. The Mission Peak District Goal is to raise $56,000 in Friends of Scouting donations.

How can you help? Any donation makes a difference on our ability to serve the youth in our community. If every family contributes, no amount is too small. All recurring donations in 2024 will be matched by the council board. If you can, consider making your donation a recurring gift to doble the impact.

Donate , any dollar amount counts: https://donations.scouting.org/#/council/023/appeal/7623

Make sure to note if you are on a Pack or Troop and the unit number. We want to give you credit for your donation. You can help them contributing to their Unit FOS goal.

Please let us know if your employer matches charitable donations, also if you are waiting for a confirmation letter from the council.

Thank you so much for your consideration and your support.
