2/8 - Exciting Speak at our February Round Table this month!
We are super excited to announce a special guest for the February Roundtable. Naturalist Erin Blackwood from Coyote Hills Regional Park will give us a presentation on activities and facilities available for youth groups at East Bay Regional parks.

Erin will talk about the opportunities for camping, picnics, hiking, service, and environmental education at the regional parks.

Roundtable takes place at Washington High School in the Multipurpose Room at 7pm on Thursday, February 8th.

We will also be discussing the following topics:

In addition, we will report on the Prayer Hike, Indoor Rally and the Merit Badge Extravaganza along with upcoming events of:
  • Feb 17 - Mission Peak Yo-Yo Day behind the Aqua Adventure Waterpark
  • Feb 18 - Warriors Basketball Academy
  • Mar 2 - GGAC Recognition Event to honor the Silver Beavers to include our own Jim Dalton
  • Mar 15-17 - Spring Camporee March 15-17 at RLM

2/21 - BSA Council's Annual Business Meeting

2/21 - BSA Council's Annual Business Meeting
The Golden Gate Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, reminds you that you are invited to the Council’s Annual Business meeting on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the Scout Service Center, 6601 Owens Drive in Pleasanton. You can attend by zoom as well.

The Council will provide light snacks, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The business meeting will start promptly at 7:00 p.m. Please click the link below to RSVP so that we can have an accurate count of all who will be attending the meeting.

At the meeting, we will provide highlights of the past year - another productive one for our Council -  and our plans for the coming year. We will elect and install Executive Board members and Council Officers to serve 12-month terms. We will also elect Council Members at large, and present for your approval a series of annual resolutions.

The Nominating Committee is made up of Chairman Frank Starn, Marcus Lampley, Jeri Morgado, Bob Carns, Calvin Masuda, John Verdoia and Jeff Falcon.

If you are a Chartered Organization Representative for your unit or a Council Member-at-Large, this is a meeting you are welcome to attend.

Mark Wednesday, February 21st on your calendars, and make every effort to attend this important meeting for our Council.

Changes are coming . . .

On November 9, 2023, National Cub Scouting announced a major update to the program that will go into effect on June 1, 2024 for the 2024-25 program year. Their theme - Fun, Simple, Easy!

Our Council Volunteers will be hosting training sessions on:
Monday, April 29 at 7pm & Monday, May 20 at 7pm.

Any older scouts looking for a Philmont Adventure opportunity this summer?
Troop 110 has a 9 day trip booked for Philmont, starting Jun 15, 2024. They have 8 crew members at this time, including the adults with the required certification. They would love to have a stronger crew, and would like to invite any other scouts/adults who are interested in joining the crew. We can add up to 4 more members to the crew right now.
