2/21 - BSA Council's Annual Business Meeting
The Golden Gate Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, reminds you that you are invited to the Council’s Annual Business meeting on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the Scout Service Center, 6601 Owens Drive in Pleasanton. You can attend by zoom as well.

The Council will provide light snacks, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The business meeting will start promptly at 7:00 p.m. Please click the link below to RSVP so that we can have an accurate count of all who will be attending the meeting.

At the meeting, we will provide highlights of the past year - another productive one for our Council -  and our plans for the coming year. We will elect and install Executive Board members and Council Officers to serve 12-month terms. We will also elect Council Members at large, and present for your approval a series of annual resolutions.

The Nominating Committee is made up of Chairman Frank Starn, Marcus Lampley, Jeri Morgado, Bob Carns, Calvin Masuda, John Verdoia and Jeff Falcon.

If you are a Chartered Organization Representative for your unit or a Council Member-at-Large, this is a meeting you are welcome to attend.

Mark Wednesday, February 21st on your calendars, and make every effort to attend this important meeting for our Council.

Any older scouts looking for a Philmont Adventure opportunity this summer?
Troop 110 has a 9 day trip booked for Philmont, starting Jun 15, 2024. They have 8 crew members at this time, including the adults with the required certification. They would love to have a stronger crew, and would like to invite any other scouts/adults who are interested in joining the crew. We can add up to 4 more members to the crew right now.

For anyone interested to join our crew, please contact: Ankur Zindal (azindal@gmail.com), 978-394-2013.

Upcoming Changes in Webelos vs. Arrow of Light Cub Scouts...

Due to the recent updates to the Cub Scout program, the Arrow of Light has become a separate program from Webelos. It is essential to keep in mind that any current 4th-grade Webelos should not start working on any Arrow of Light requirements. This is because the work done on current Arrow of Light requirements will not be counted for the updated Arrow of Light badge of rank requirements that will take effect on June 1, 2024. Instead, current 4th-grade Webelos should focus on earning elective Adventures.

Elective Adventures will no longer be shared between 4th-grade Webelos and 5th-grade Arrow of Light. Adventures will only be available to 4th-grade Webelos after June 1, 2024. It is recommended that current 4th grade Webelos focus on these elective Adventures: Aquanaut, Art Explosion, Aware and Care, Build It!, Earth Rocks!, and Modular Design.
