Support Scouting Families who wish to participate in the SF Pride Parade

The BSA’s DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion)

Mission: To promote a culture where every youth, volunteer, and employee feels a sense of belonging and builds communities where every person feels respected and valued. Leading by example and encouraging each other to live by the values expressed by the Scout Oath and Scout Law, we welcome families of all backgrounds to help prepare young people to serve as successful members and leaders of our nation’s increasingly diverse communities.

The Golden Gate District of the GGAC (specifically Pack 88) in partnership with Scouts for Equality - is preparing to march as a group at the 2022 Pride Parade. They welcome all who wish to join them. The parade is from 9 am - 1 pm Sunday, June 26th. The group will be in the designated ALLY+ FAMILY section of the parade. Supporting participants do NOT need to be members of the LGBTQ+ community as they show that scouting is a welcoming community to all.

Registration: we would appreciate people completing the registration form with at least information that someone will be attending the event, even if the exact number is not yet known. We need to let the Parade committee know our rough numbers and we also need to know roughly how many scarves and epaulets to organize. Once registered, more information will be emailed the week before the parade to all participants. For questions, contact Gretchen Mora by email.

The Scout contingent is always very well received by onlookers and other marchers in attendance, so scouts should be prepared to be widely cheered and appreciated!
