11/11 Roundtable - EBRPD Speaker

11/11 Roundtable - EBRPD Speaker

Did you know that the Carousel at Tilden Park is one of the few working models left in the entire United States?

Did you know that Alameda’s Crown Memorial Beach is the largest beach in San Francisco Bay?

Did you know you can take your scouts on an underground mine tour for only $5 each?

To learn more about great opportunities and awesome fun facts about our local East Bay Regional Parks, come join us on November 11th at 7 pm for Roundtable.  Our guest speaker, Terry Noon, an employee at EBRPD and Assistant Scoutmaster, will be chatting with us about the latest updates with the parks, where there are some changes in the works, what little known amenities are available for the public, and what opportunities are available for our scouts with them. He will also be able for questions and suggestions of where help is needed and maybe some suggestions for great Eagle projects in these areas.

Hybrid Meeting:
  1. In-person portion at ILM Academy, 42412 Albrae St, Fremont, CA 94538
  2. Online portion over Zoom, see info below:

Scouting For Food Collection Sat 13th

Scouting For Food Collection Sat 13th

This Saturday 11/13 is the Scouting For Food collection day.

  • Attached is a map showing how to enter the Holy Spirit parking lot.  (We want to use the Parish Ave entrance to avoid possibly causing a traffic backup on Fremont Blvd.)
  • Please remember to count your donations so the district can get full credit.  Keep all glass containers separate.  We will accept them, but they have to be kept separated.
  • Clothing donations were not mentioned on the door hanger.  Keep them separate from the food as they will be dropped off in an area away from the food.
  • Don't forget to log ALL of your service hours.
Thanks,  Don Uriu, duriu@flash.net, (510) 364-9984

11/12 YPT Zoom Class - YPT Rules Change - Status Reports

How to retake YPT

You may retake YPT on your own schedule by accessing the course at my.scouting.org. If you prefer a classroom setting, you can attend one of our Zoom classes in November 2021. Currently, the classes are scheduled for:
  • Fri 12th, 7:00 pm - https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZYsce6srzkjE9ShrG2jv8xS5DHmuuoecA2o
  • Sun 21st, 4:00 pm - https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZwrd-GpqzIrGtL2zlyf-2yp1ozj3NWTbQkZ
    • Check the website calendar to confirm dates & times as well as register to attend a session.
GGAC adopts stricter rules regarding YPT
One change that affects all registered Adult Leaders in Mission Peak is the new stricter rule that the GGAC Board of Directors adopted in April 2021 regarding YPT.
At recharter time, all Adults wishing to be included must have a YPT certificate that is valid for the entire period of the new charter.

For the 2022 recharter, this translates to adults needing to have NO expiration dates in 2022 and having expiration dates on or beyond 1/1/23. Your cooperation in retaking YPT before your Unit submits their recharter information in November would be greatly appreciated.

Current YPT Status

  • We will periodically post an updated file for the entire district on our YPT Page.
  • If you have questions, contact our District YPT Champion, Steve Conn, sfconn@gmail.com, 510-220-6710
