UPDATE: COVID-19 Program Announcement

The leadership of the Golden Gate Area Council has updated their response to the COVID-19 outbreak and protocols for Scouting operations going forward. We appreciate your continued patience as we navigate this situation as best we can.

  • Recent updates and loosening of restrictions are allowing Dens and Patrols to engage in small outdoor activities. The following guidelines must be met:
    • Social bubbles of 12 people or less
    • Face masks are worn by all participants
    • No person-to-person contact
    • 6 feet or greater of social-distancing guidelines must be sustained

Any units wishing to conduct small-scale meetings or activities should do so only if able to meet specific preventative guidance from the Alameda County Health Department

Other updates to note:

  • All in-person district and council meetings through September 30th will continue to be conducted over Zoom teleconference unless  cancelled or postponed.
  • No overnight district or council activities may be conducted through September 30th
  • Weekend camping for ALL of our youth programs  at all Council-owned camps is canceled through September 30th, 2020.
  • The Youth Leadership Training Center, 1001 Davis St, San Leandro remains open for drop off only with hours of 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Late evening and Saturday appointments are possible by contacting your District Professional
  • The 2 Scout Shop locations are open to limited retail traffic. Please contact San Leandro location (510)633-2005 or Pleasant Hill location (925)674-8500 for more store information, including updated store hours.
  • Our council program team is currently looking at alternative planning for major council events later this Fall. More information regarding those events will be made available as the situation evolves.
