Scouting for Food was another great success!

This year was a great success with our Mission Peak District. Hundreds of scouts work over those two weekends to bring in some great results in our communities. Here are some of the breakdowns of our success this year.

• 39,000 pounds of food were collected
• 57 bins of food sent to the Alameda County Community Food Bank
• $ 5,305 in donations were received
• Over 1,000 items of clothing were collected
• 47 of the 51 areas in Mission Peak were covered
• 80,000 doorhangers were used
• Over 5,600 service hours were logged
• 100% participation – all Mission Peak packs and troops participated

Mission Peak again led the council in the largest service project in the entire council. Special thanks to Curt Strommen (Holy Spirit Church), John Arai & Steven Uriu (T20) and Raj Govindu (T154), for helping all day at the collection site, to the parents and scouts from Troop 154 for helping with the loading of the bins, to Troop 20 for transporting all the clothing to Union City and to Holy Spirit Church for letting us use their parking lot.

Thank you to all the Mission Peak units for a great job this year
