My name is Dylan Adams, and I am with Troop 224 in Lafayette. I am reaching out to you to see if any Scouts in your Troop would like to volunteer to help me with my Eagle project taking place on May 3rd and May 10th.
My project is working with the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary https://farallones. noaa.gov to promote marine conservation awareness and to help renovate the sea wall near the Visitor Center and the interior staircase for the museum at the center. The Visitor Center is located at Crissy Field, 991 Marine Dr, San Francisco, CA 94129. The attached flyer has all the information.
My project is also designed to continue to develop the relationship between Scouting across the Golden Gate Area Council and the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary (GFNMS) through increasing awareness of the work conducted by the Sanctuary. As part of that relationship, staff from the GFNMS will be providing instruction on a few of the requirements for the Oceanography merit badge while scouts are on site volunteering for the renovation project, either before or after each work shift during the lunch break (see flyer). It is hoped that more scouts will choose to do their Eagle project in collaboration with the GFNMS. and will be able to help support this organization’s mission.
I would be grateful if you could please forward this to your troop. Scouts can email me if they have questions, and they can sign up directly for a volunteer shift at the SignUp Genius link included here.
Scouts would be asked to participate for one or more 3-hour shifts and lunch will be provided. Free parking is available at the center.
Thanks again, and I would really appreciate your sending this on to your scouts and I look forward to getting to know them.
Thank you,
Dylan Adams
