10/4 - SAVE THE DATE - The "Heroes in the Community" event is coming up!

Are your Scouts aware of the amazing heroes that exist in our community that keep our cities moving, successful and amazing?

Are your Scouts aware of the behind-the-scenes individuals who do so much for our communities and never got the spotlight they deserve?
|
Do your Scouts have requirements this year to meet certain individuals such as police officers, elected officials or firefighters and you are struggling with finding a way to organize these gatherings?
|
Come out to the inaugural "Heroes in the Community" sponsored by Scouting America and Newark Vice Mayor Eve Marie Little! This event is being put together so that all kids in the tri-city area have a chance to meet and shake hands with the folks that build our communities! So far we have had Assemblymember Alex Lee, Senator Aisha Wahab, Newark Police Department, Alameda County Firefighters, Newark Rotary Club, Alameda County Library and so many more have signed up!

When your scout arrives, they will be given a "Bingo-like" card which they will go to each hero booth to get stamped. After they have gone to all the booths, they come to the final table and get a prize!

DATE: Saturday, October 4th from 10am to 1pm

WHERE: Silliman Center, 6800 Mowry Avenue in Newark
|
COST: This event is FREE to all kids from Newark, Fremont and Union City!
|
UNIFORMS: Scouts are being asked to wear their Class A uniforms so we can make sure they get the right items written off.

9/4 - Fall Camporee 2025 and Adult Leadership Meeting around the corner

Are you looking for a fun and friendly competition for your unit?

Make sure to sign up for the Fall Camporee 2025 during the third week of September. If you haven’t yet registered to attend, what are you waiting for?

The Camporee Adult Leadership will host an informational meeting on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 7pm. We recommend at least one adult who is attending Camporee, should attend the meeting. Save the date!!

9/6 - Eagle Scout Blood Drive Project

The first-ever Scouts X Sharks ‘Give Ball Hockey a Try’ day is just 2 weeks away on September 6, 2025!

All participants receive access to the hour-long class led by Sharks staff, a ball hockey stick, ball, and pinnie to keep, a Scout patch, and a voucher for 2 tickets to an upcoming Sharks game. Questions? Please contact Reese Reichwein at  !

10/11 - Troop Showcase Registration is OPEN!
|
|
|
The Mission Peak Troop Showcase is on a Saturday morning, October 11 from 10 AM until Noon. It is where Troops present themselves to the Arrow of Light Scouts from all over Mission Peak. This year, the Showcase will be completely outside, as it was the last three years. The location is Our Lady Guadalupe School, 40374 Fremont Blvd (at St. Leonards Way) and is the same location as last year. This is the school, not the church. Enter from Mission View Dr or Condon Street. This is 100% separate from the District Roundtable.

The Troop Showcase has always been one of the very best places for Arrow of Lights to start their quest for their ideal Troop. We typically have over 70% of the Troops represented at the Troop Showcase with a similar percentage of the Arrow of Light Dens participating in the event. We are asking each troop to indicate if they are intending to participate. Please fill out this short Google Form – Troop Showcase Interest.
