October Boo Camp needs Adult and BSA Volunteers!!!

October Boo Camp needs Adult and BSA Volunteers!!!
The Boo Camp committee is seeking vital support for our upcoming Boo Camp, our council-wide Cub Scout parent-youth overnight experience at Rancho Los Mochos. Scheduled for the weekends of October 11–12 and October 18–19. This year’s theme is "In Search of Big Foot," offering an imaginative and exciting program for Cub Scouts and their families.
Volunteer Staff Needed:
We are recruiting both adults and Scouts BSA-aged youth to serve in key volunteer roles, including:
  • Leading or assisting at program/activity stations
  • Supporting registration and check-in
  • Helping with campfire and ceremonies
  • Assisting with setup (Friday evening), throughout the weekend, or for single days
No matter your availability or experience, your willingness to help is essential. Volunteers will receive meals (at no cost), and Scouts may earn service hour credit.
Also, this is strictly a costumed event, so leave your uniform at home and create a fun costume to wear for the weekend!
To get involved, contact Lynda Hale, Camp Director, at  or 630-631-2871.

Mission Peak Holds Another Successful Camporee

Mission Peak Holds Another Successful Camporee
The 2025 Fall Camporee at Rancho Los Mochos was held September 19-21 with 375 Scouts and 65 patrols.  35 Camporee Youth Staff were led by 6 senior youth leaders: Aarav Dixit, Issak Tsaur, Siddharth Roy, Sadia Muddassir, Akshat Gupta and Aadwin Balla.

It was a HOT day on Saturday!! There were 12 field events, 5 Yard Work Olympics events and of course, the famous pioneering project – catapult, this time throwing water balloons at an adult staff member and several youth staff standing in the target area.  The Realistic First Aid event was well attended with at least one adult believing in the injury.

The Youth Staff was advised by Meena Mariwalla, Brian Putt, Divya Bellamkonda and Abhijit Saha. Camporee weekend would not have been possible without the support of the 23 other adult volunteers who played key roles on staff.  The overall winning Troop was T176 – Congratulations!!!!  With 2nd place to T273 and a virtual tie for 3rd  between T269 and T2273.  Congratulations to all of the winners of Camporee events; everyone was a winner as they had FUN!
