Need your ideas for a vegetarian menu for troop outings
Jay Johnson, the Scoutmaster for Troop 2942 (copied here), has noticed that his troop now has many more vegetarian scouts. He's looking for some advice on creating a tasty and nutritious vegetarian menu for their outings, with recipes that the scouts can easily cook themselves.
We thought it would be a wonderful idea to put together a Scouting vegetarian cookbook that everyone can use! If you have any favorite vegetarian recipes or tips that have worked well for your troop, please share them with
Your input would be incredibly valuable in helping us create a resource that all our scouts can enjoy. Thank you so much for your help and support with this project!
Looking forward to all your delicious ideas, let's Create a Vegetarian Cookbook for Our Scouts!

New Website for AB-506 Training!

Important update: We have a new website for taking the AB-506 training: https://mandatedreportertraining.com/bsa/ Once adults complete the training, the certificate will be automatically recorded—no need to upload it elsewhere.

9/15 - Volunteers, especially Woodworking Helpers, needed at the Historic Shinn House in Fremont!
There is a request for help needed at the Mid Autumn Festival on September 15, 2024. This is a fabulous event that is being put together for the community and there are several areas where help is needed such as:
— Set up tables and chairs in the morning
— Help kids build at the “Little House” wood workshop area
— Move the tables and chairs back into the shed.
The activities don’t overlap, so one group of scouts could do all. Or three groups could come at different times of the day. For more information or if your unit is interested in signing up, please email Janet Barton at or check out https://www.historicshinnhouse.org/
