3/27 - GGAC BB Gun Rangemaster Training
The Council is offering BB Gun Rangemaster Training in late March, which is essential for supervising and operating BB Gun ranges at various Scouting events.
This training allows a Scouter to supervise and operate a BB Gun range for Cub Day Camp, Cub Scout Resident Camps (including Family Camps), and other Council- and District-hosted activities where BB Gun ranges are used. A ratio of one Rangemaster to a maximum of eight live shooting stations is used to supervise the range (example—if there are 10 shooters, you need at least two Rangemasters present to operate the range).
The training consists of a Zoom session on the evening of March 27th and an in-person hands-on session on March 30th at Camp Herms (choose between a morning or afternoon class). The cost is $20, and the course is limited to 25 people.

2/18 - Available Training for Adult Leaders at Merit Badge Extravaganza!
Will you be taking a Scout to Merit Badge Extravaganza?
If so, why not stay, and take one of the adult leader training courses available?
The Troop Committee Challenge
The Troop Committee Challenge training is highly recommended for all parents with youth in the Scouts-BSA program!
This two and a half hour course will be an excellent introduction to the Scouts BSA program for parents who are new to Scouting or who recently bridged from Cub Scouts and will meet all requirements for committee members or chairs to be trained for their positions.
Merit Badge Counselor Training
Merit badge counselors are a crucial part of the Scouts BSA program, supporting multiple methods of scouting including: adult association, advancement, and personal growth. Even better, being a merit badge counselor is a fun and rewarding way to interact with scouting youth both inside and outside of your unit.
For counselors to be effective in their role, they need to understand the merit badge process, how it fits into the scouting program, and their place in it. This 90 minute training will meet all requirements for Merit Badge Counselors to be trained.
This is a great course for anyone considering becoming a merit badge counselor or for any parent who wants a better understanding of the merit badge process.

5/4 - Save the Date - Memorial Day Grave Decoration at Golden Gate National Cemetery
Memorial Day Grave Decoration
Come place flags at Golden Gate National Cemetery to pay tribute to the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country.
For over 70 years, Scouts around the country have been helping to honor our country's fallen. It all began in 1949 when Scouts in the Greater St. Louis Council decorated the 190,000 graves at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with miniature US flags. Since then, it has become one of the largest service projects in the country.
Locally, the Golden Gate National Cemetery was first opened in 1941 and is one of 131 National cemeteries in 39 states. It is the final resting place of 15 Medal of Honor recipients, Congressman Leo Ryan, and Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, commander of the US Pacific Fleet during World War II. Each year, Scouts, Scouters, veterans and other community groups from all over the Bay Area gather in tribute to these gallant men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country.
The Registration Link for this is still pending so right now it is a SAVE THE DATE for your scout unit.
