We also awarded the DISTRICT PLAQUE AWARD to Jonathan Leder, Abhijit Saha, Vanjikumaran Sivajothy, Christine Valerie Watnik, Timothy Wong, Melanie Young.

These individuals have campaigned over the last couple of years to offer the very best for our scouts and we really appreciate what these individuals have done for the future generations of Eagle Scouts.

A huge thank you to all those that came out and celebrated

the wonderful Mission Peak District Volunteer Appreciation Dinner! It was a lovely night of laughs, smiles and loud round of applauses for our incredible volunteers. The highlight of the evening was definitely awarding the DISTRICT AWARD OF MERIT to Meena Mariwalla and Katherine Brovont!

These two ladies have given so much to our scouting program here in the Mission Peak training from organizing special events, to putting together special training and always being there to help anyone and everyone that needs here. They have always been an email or a text message away and it was a pleasure to see their big faces of surprise when they were chosen for our big award this year!

So many other people were awarded that night from DISTRICT CERTIFICATES OF APPRECIATION for Tim Christman, Sreevathsa Doddabalapur, Ankita Garg, Ankur Garg, Chrys Grace, Rebecca Grant, Mike James, Ameet Kapadia, Sara Karrick-Hewitt, Nishanth Manjunath, Randy Miranda, Vasudeo Nandagiri, Vanessa Oshiro, Naveen Patlola, Marissa Shaw, Mehmood Tily, Bharath Venkatesan, Louisa Wong, Heather Zeng.
We also had two very special awards to Antoniette Schlobohm and Christine Watnik for their special service awards they received that night as well.

A huge thank you to the Southern Alameda County Buddhist Church for hosting the event and Chef Charlie Mabie and his cooking team for making an amazing Mediterranean cuisine for the evening.

5/18 - Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge needs your help! Conservation Hours available to Scouts!
Recently, Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge launched the stewardship weekends, a series of volunteering events occuring monthly at the Refuge. The upcoming volunteering event on this Sunday, May 18, at our Fremont Headquarters, is a great opportunity to show your love to your natural environment, at our beautiful Refuge, home to countless animals and plants and the most inspiring views (IMO) of the Bay. You will also learn a bunch about the flora and fauna! Please share this information freely (thank you!) and register if you are interested at the Eventbrite link below!

Join us for a fun and fulfilling day of giving back to our natural environment at the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge! Engage in hands-on activities to help maintain and improve the wildlife habitat. Whether you're a nature enthusiast or just looking for a way to make a positive impact, this in-person event is perfect for all ages and skill levels. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with nature, contribute to your local national wildlife refuge, and gain the benefits of engaging in physical activity!

This May stewardship event will focus in enhancing native plant habitats by removing invasive weeds. Come and learn about the importance of native plant communities for wildlife and methods to help them thrive. Be part of the solution as a weed-warrior! Trash pick-up will also be an option for those interested. All supplies will be provided, but we encourage you to bring your own gloves. Wear sun protection, sturdy closed-toed shoes, and dress in layers. Bring water!

For those that are seeking to complete a schedule of conservation hours, I can sign your form at the end of the event,,or provide a verification letter after the event (please let me know).
