2/12 - Roundtable TONIGHT on Better Decision Making to help better scouting experiences!
Do you agree that making better decisions leads to a better scouting experience?
Washington High School Cafeteria
Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 7pm
This month's round table will talk through a systematic process that you can use in your scout unit, personal decisions or at work to make better decisions. Does your unit face decisions such as where to go to summer camp, should we have a high adventure experience, how should we prepare for camporee, or does a Cub Scout unit want to have more outdoor camping experiences? These questions need a methodology to make good decisions based on the attitudes of the scouts, with input from the parents. The process leads to alignment of the scouts to participate.
While there will be some presentation material, we will have a facilitated discussion about a decision. That could be a decision from one person at Roundtable on February 12. We will explore the decision in a structured way to understand how it might be framed.
All adults are invited to attend to learn how to make better decisions and to align the parties, whether in or outside of scouting.
We think that this will be an exciting roundtable and look forward to seeing you all there. Please feel free to contact Lee Amon at if you have questions.

3/7 - Annual Troop 269 Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser!
Niles Troop 269’s Annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on March 7th from 8am to noon at the Veteran's Memorial Building at Niles is a long-standing community tradition that combines service, learning, and togetherness. The event helps scouts practice thriftiness, with 60 percent of each $15 ticket, or $9, going directly into individual scout accounts to support summer camps, high-adventure trips, and other scouting activities.
The breakfast also offers scouts valuable hands-on experience in planning, cooking, and serving, building teamwork and leadership skills that guests consistently praise for their professionalism and enthusiasm. This year’s event falls on the eve of International Women’s Day, and all women attendees will be treated to one complimentary food or beverage item of their choice, adding a special note of celebration to the morning.’
