You will gain a better understanding of program be better prepared to help your troop thrive and your scouts succeed in their scouting journey.

March 21st and 22nd - RIGHT HERE IN FREMONT!

At least one BALOO trained adult MUST be present at any Cub Scout Campout, and MORE is Better
Topics Covered include:

- Camping Gear Selection and Maintenance
- Health and Safety
- Nature and Hiking
- Outdoor Games
- Camping Site Selection and Setup
- Campout Program Planning
The morning session will take place at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Niles. Saturday afternoon we will move to Garin Park, where we will camp overnight, have breakfast, and depart by noon.

The course will be taught by experienced Cub Scout leaders and is strongly recommended for every parent with an active cub scout.

3/7 - San Jose Sharks Scout Night & Pinewood Derby
|
|
|
Scouts, unit leaders, and families are invited to the San Jose Sharks Grand Prix Scout Night on March 7, 2026, at SAP Center vs. the Islanders. All tickets purchased through the event link include access to a pregame Pinewood Derby starting at 3:00 p.m., plus an exclusive Sharks Grand Prix participant patch for each Scout racer.

Looking for scout volunteers for the Fall Camporee
|
|
|
Please mark your calendars—Fall Camporee 2026 will be held September 25–27, 2026, at Rancho Los Mochos.
|
As in past years, the 2026 Fall Camporee will be organized and led by Mission Peak Scouts. We are currently seeking Scouts interested in serving on Camporee staff. Please share this opportunity with your Troops so Scouts can gain valuable leadership experience and skills they can bring back to their units.
|
Scouts may submit their interest to serve on the Fall Camporee Youth Staff by completing the following form: https://forms.gle/JvonsTCqpEoUmYz28 This is a wonderful opportunity for the scouts to learn and lead while having fun! The interviews are starting soon, so hurry up!!

The application will remain open until 15th February, with interviews for senior youth leadership roles taking place in late February.

Congratulations to our two Silver Bear Award recipients from our district!
|
|
Two of our very own Mission Peak Volunteers have been selected this year from our very own district for the Silver Beaver award, Scouting’s highest recognition for Scouters who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given at the council level. We are honored Eve Marie Little and Meena Mariwalla are being recognized as Silver Beavers by Golden Gate Area Council for this award. Please congratulate them for they have both done so much for Scouting, particularly in Mission Peak and in their units.

The Silver Beaver Award will be presented at the GGAC Volunteer Recognition Event on March 7. Please join us to celebrate their selection. Details are below. Look for registration information soon.

District Awards and Recognition
Do you have an outstanding adult in your Pack, Troop, Crew, or Post? Have they contributed extra effort, time, work, or ideas? Are you and the boys and girls proud of what they have done? Then nominate them now for District recognition by completing this FORM.

Levels of Awards
Each year some of our District’s top Scouters are honored with special awards for their service to youth. These include:
|
- The Mission Peak District Certificate of Appreciation is presented as a thank you to Scouters who have given significant service to their Pack, Troop, Crew, Post, or District.
- A District Plaque is presented for outstanding service over an extended period to multiple units and/or Mission Peak District.
- The District Award of Merit is awarded by the Golden Gate Area Council to Scouters who have made an impact on the lives of youth through noteworthy service given at the District level. The service can be a single extraordinary act, several individual efforts, or results over an extended period. As a Council award, the number that can be presented is strictly limited.
