5/10 - Come celebrate our amazing volunteers at the Mission Peak District Volunteer Recognition Dinner!
Please join us to honor the recipients of the District Certificate of Appreciation, District Plaque, and District Award of Merit (the highest award that a District volunteer can receive).

Please stay tuned to the Mission Peak News Flash on Thursdays for announcement of Certificate and Plaque recipients. The District Award of Merit recipients will be revealed on the evening of the event. The event itself will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025. The evening will start with a social pre-gathering hour at 5 pm. Dinner and the main program will kick off at 6 pm.

The event is priced at $25 per person. There will be no additional fee for registrations made up until the event's start.  Walk-up registration is allowed at no additional cost. Advance registration is requested to ensure that we have an accurate headcount for meals.

The registration is officially open for CAMP GOAT (formally known as Mission Peak Cub Scout Day Camp) and we are VERY excited to invite all of our Mission Peak Cub Scouts to come join us this year at Ardenwood Farm and we only have 45 spots left!
  • Come hang out with the cute farm animals!
  • Work on your Badges during this week!
  • Having fun with your cub scout friends!
  • Learnings tons of really cool stuff!
  • Doing great things for the community!
In the past, we have usually sold out pretty quickly so make sure to register your scout ASAP using the following link. Please remember, Camp GOAT does NOT happen without volunteers so please sign up to volunteer as a den walker. You can spend some great time watching your scout have a blast and you get a MAJOR discount (up to $175 dollars) for volunteering that week!

Saturday, May 3rd from 8:30am to 12noon
Silliman Center/Sportsfield Park, 6800 Mowry Avenue in Newark

Urban Forest Friends will be working with the City of Newark to plant twenty (20) new trees at Silliman Center/Sportsfield Park. Tell your family and friends, all are welcome. This is a great opportunity to learn about how to properly plant trees, earn volunteer hours, help your community, and fight climate change.

No previous experience necessary! We'll bring all the tools and supplies - just bring yourself, some water, and wear sturdy closed-toe shoes. Must be 14+ to volunteer.

5/30 Weekend - Mission Peak District Target & Range Sports Event
Registration for the First Mission Peak District Target & Range Sports Event is now open.

School will be out in late May. So Scouts, start your summer off with some Scouting fun!! Come and explore archery, rifle, shotgun and tomahawk in one place, Rancho Los Mochos.  Cost is $55 for each Scouts BSA or Venture Youth.

The event is organized into 3 sessions, with 32 scouts able to participate per session. Scouts can choose to participate in one of 3 sessions: Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning. This is a fun event; no merit badge requirements or completions will be done.

Registration is by Unit; when registering, Units will need to specify the session and the number of Scouts participating (maximum of 8 per Unit).  Sign up early for more session options.

There is also an option to purchase lunch on Saturday.  Units can also camp overnight at Rancho Los Mochos.

Scouters from Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, and Explorers, and district and council Scouters all are welcome and belong here. Reflecting the best of nearly a century of Scouting experience, Wood Badge draws upon the most current leadership models used by corporate America, academic circles and successful organizations throughout the country.
