5/30 to 6/1 - MP Target and Range Sports Weekend
Mark Your Calendars!! Mission Peak District’s Target & Range Sports Weekend is happening from May 30-June 1, 2025.  Come and explore a variety of shooting sports at Rancho Los Mochos!!  See how good you are at Archery, Rifle, Shotgun and Tomahawk in a span of 4 hours!!

This is a day event with the option to camp for one night.  Space is limited to 96 Scouts and registration is by Troop ONLY!

Registration opens in April, with priority registration for Mission Peak Scouts!! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to explore target sports and show off your skills!!

3/8 - Tree Planting Volunteer Opportunity in a Newark Park
Date: Saturday, March 8th, 2025
Time: Check-in: 8:30-8:45am. Tree Planting: 9am-noon. Please show up no later than 8:45am to check-in!
Location: Mayhews Landing Park, 36380 Cherry St, Newark, CA 94560

Urban Forest Friends will be working with the City of Newark to plant fifteen (15) new trees at Mayhews Landing Park. Tell your family and friends, all are welcome. This is your opportunity to learn about how to properly plant trees, earn volunteer hours and help your community.
No previous experience necessary! We'll bring all the tools and supplies - just bring yourself, some water, and wear sturdy closed-toe shoes. Must be 14+ to volunteer.

The Annual Mission Peak District Volunteer Recognition dinner will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025. All district scouters are invited to attend. Please reserve the date.

We will be celebrating two outstanding volunteer scouters with the District Award of Merit – the highest award a district can bestow.  We will also honor those who have earned the District Plaque and the District Certificate.

Join us for a rewarding day of environmental stewardship at Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge! Scouts, families, and friends will work together to help restore this vital habitat by removing invasive plant species and cleaning up litter. This event is a great opportunity to give back to nature while earning conservation service hours.

What to Expect & What to Bring

 All tools will be provided, but please bring your own gloves.

 Dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes.

 Bring sunscreen, a hat, and any personal supplies you may need.

 The refuge requires a signed volunteer waiver for all participants.

 Registration required! Please sign up via Eventbrite Link, and make sure to include all participants – scouts and family members – in your registration.

 Troops will receive certificates for the most trash collected and the most invasive species removed!

 Younger siblings are welcome, but small children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
