Jim Dalton and Jaime Guerra were honored at the Mission Peak Recognition Dinner this past weekend Jim Dalton, SM from Troop 132, and Jaime Guerra also from Troop 132 organized and facilitated the road repair. Jim provided management and physical labor and Jaime’s construction company Guerra Construction contributed labor and equipment of all types to dig trenches for large pipes to cross the road and cut culverts along the edge of the road for drainage. Scouters from 10 different units worked on the road for 4 days (Thursday – Sunday afternoon) There was a lot of comradery among the volunteers many of which enjoyed themselves very much even though they tended to be computer jocks.
Deteriorated concrete and asphalt were removed, 90 tons of rock were laid, and pallets of concrete were sprinkled with water and compressed to make the new surface. Many thanks to Guerra Construction for their HUGH contribution to repairing the road.
With this type of volunteer labor, many projects could be completed in GGAC.
