Cub Program Ideas

Fall Program Ideas:

Creating a scavenger hunt for Cub Scouts- each family would be given a map and clues to find various items around their park/school/home. Once the Scout finds each item, they are to have parents take a pic of the item and post the final picture collage on Instagram or Facebook. Jennifer Ciraolo & Danny Pak – Golden Gate Area Council; for more info contact

District-Wide Advancement/Awards Day in partnership with local churches. Anthony Ingram ( – Great Smoky Mountain Council)

Hosting Online Adventures for our Scoutreach youth via a zoom webinar.
These are 30min sessions: colbsa.org/homescouting/onlineadventures
Stacey Graham ( – Cradle of Liberty Council)

One thing GSMC is considering is to send postcards to every home with youth ages 5-18 and they can then go to BeAScout.org and/or they can call a dedicated number to get more info. Anthony Ingram ( – Great Smoky Mountain Council)

Another idea we are considering is to partner with the Bus Contractors for the school system to distribute info and/or allow us to put window clings or banners on their buses Anthony Ingram ( – Great Smoky Mountain Council)

My team is planning on sending fliers at the summer feeding programs, pick up apps from those locations, and do scouting in a box (not virtual)
Josette Crawford ( – Capital Area Council)

In the Grand Teton Council, we are going to hold a STEM-O-RAMA and use this as a membership recruitment event as well as an education event. This is the 2nd Annual and last year we had over people and it will be free to all because we identified sponsors. Elias Lopez ( – Grand Teton Council)

One of our fall recruitment strategies was to show up to the drive through graduations and present our 5th graders with masks, a snack bag, and a flyer that congratulates them on their success and reminds them to continue their scouting journey into middle school. We also attached links to national and council sites and my contact info if they needed assistance. LaShawn Jones ( – Baltimore Area Council)

Many schools use some sort of communication tool, SchoolMessenger or ClassDojo. It may be a way that the school can share BSA recruitment info to their families on our behalf Anthony Ingram ( – Great Smoky Mountain Council)
