3/7 – Fishing Opportunity for Scouts this Saturday in Newark!

Is your Cub Scout interested in working on the Fishing Adventure? Does your BSA scout have interest in fly fishing or the fishing merit badge or working on one of the last requirements for this merit badge?

If so, come join the city of Newark at the Annual Fishing in the City event on Saturday, March 7th from 8:30am to 11am at the Boathouse at Lakeshore Park. There have been over 5000 pounds of fish put into the lake and we want you to join the Recreation Department and Public Works for a free morning of fishing and hands-on learning. Youth ages 5–15 will rotate through skill stations and learn the basics of:

• Knot tying
• Casting
• Fish handling techniques
Participants must check in, receive a wristband, and complete the required stations to fish in the designated event area. This event is first come, first served and open to youth only during event hours.
No experience needed. Just show up ready to learn and have fun. See you at the lake!
