2/8 - Merit Badge Counselors needed for Merit Badge Extravaganza this Spring!

Brian Putt and Meena Mariwalla are the organizers for Mission Peak District’s Merit Badge Extravaganza 2025 (MBeX 2025), tentatively scheduled for Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Centerville Middle School in Fremont, CA. Please note that we are in the process of confirming the location, and once confirmed, we will reach out with more information.

We invite you to teach some of the merit badges that you counsel at MBeX 2025. If you are available to teach on February 8, 2025, please consider helping our Scouts and complete the following form: https://forms.gle/2VQPALMQ21ignvmv5.

Please complete the form by December 5, 2024 if you are available to teach.

No prior experience necessary – just your willingness to give some of your time, which you already do!! You can teach a small or big group of Scouts (maximum of 29 Scouts) per class. You can also team up with a fellow Merit Badge Counselor to co-teach a merit badge that you are approved to teach.

We will provide you with a list of Scouts signed up to take your class, your classroom assignment and map of the facility ahead of time.

Lunch is not provided. Participants will pay a fee for attending, but there is no fee for merit badge counselors.

Please ensure that you are compliant with all adult registration requirements for 2025:

(a) You have taken/renewed Youth Protection Training and it does not expire at anytime in 2025;

(b) You have taken/renewed Mandated Reporter Training, per California Assembly Bill 506, and it does not expire anytime in 2025;

(d) You have completed recharter requirements or submitted an application to be a registered adult leader with the BSA.
