5/18 – Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge needs your help! Conservation Hours available to Scouts!

Recently, Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge launched the stewardship weekends, a series of volunteering events occuring monthly at the Refuge.  The upcoming volunteering event on this Sunday, May 18, at our Fremont Headquarters, is a great opportunity to show your love to your natural environment, at our beautiful Refuge, home to countless animals and plants and the most inspiring views (IMO) of the Bay. You will also learn a bunch about the flora and fauna! Please share this information freely (thank you!) and register if you are interested at the Eventbrite link below!
Join us for a fun and fulfilling day of giving back to our natural environment at the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge! Engage in hands-on activities to help maintain and improve the wildlife habitat. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or just looking for a way to make a positive impact, this in-person event is perfect for all ages and skill levels. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with nature, contribute to your local national wildlife refuge, and gain the benefits of engaging in physical activity!
This May stewardship event will focus in enhancing native plant habitats by removing invasive weeds. Come and learn about the importance of native plant communities for wildlife and methods to help them thrive. Be part of the solution as a weed-warrior! Trash pick-up will also be an option for those interested. All supplies will be provided, but we encourage you to bring your own gloves. Wear sun protection, sturdy closed-toed shoes, and dress in layers. Bring water!
For those that are seeking to complete a schedule of conservation hours, I can sign your form at the end of the event,or provide a verification letter after the event (please let me know).
